Khiba – Traditional Botswana Skirt
This beautiful and versatile skirt, called a Khiba in Setswana, is the official traditional attire in Botswana. At formal occasions, it is worn together with a matching tukwi (headscarf), closed shoes and if you are married, a checkered blanket. It is also worn as everyday clothing paired with a plain T-shirt. Made from “Leteise”, or more commonly called Shwe Shwe or German Print, the skirt is available in beautiful shades of blue reminiscent of the Botswana flag.
